So, buckle up for the ride, and let's embark on this adventure together!
E’kalb Hollow was a small town nestled in the backwoods of Virginia. Living in this impoverished community were the Braxtons. In the face of Jim Crow laws, this African American family managed to maintain their faith and dignity and learned to move past undeserved hurt and moral injustices. This book is extraordinary and is a must read for the woke generation as well as those who came before.

The Braxton family has been through it all. Together they endured overwhelming losses and tragedies. As a professional in the field of special education, I was personally touched by Pauline's challenges in raising an intellectually delayed child during Jim Crow. But through it all, the love that the Braxton family had for each other allowed them to triumph over the tragedies. I hope there's a sequel!! ll

When I started to read this book, I was 100 pages in before taking a break. Enlightening story of one family's perseverance amid all of their struggles and misfortunes. This family maintained their sense of pride and willingness to overcome adversities at a time when "America the great" was not so "great" for people of color. I was especially impressed with the inclusion of the contents of personal letters written. Kudos to the Author. This book is a "must read".
